Hello and thank you for participating in Pain(t) 2 Power!

The themes of this collective art work are justice, empowerment, liberation and overcoming any instance where you were unfairly treated by systems, people, institutions that try to steal women's power and how you rose out of it.

PAINT IT

We wish to have a constellation of "Story Stars" pasted into a magnificent JUSTICE MURAL on East 3rd street each containing your own personal spin on these themes or any you come up with on your own. You can create the star onsite, we will have materials for you to use. OR you can print your own star at home. Fill it with any of the following. Each star will be integrated into master muralist C. Finley's awesome painting and will become part of the art.

  • a conjuring

  • a letter to someone who hurt you

BRING THE STAR TO THE SITE OF THE MURAL on OCT 23rd between 2-5 pm

THERE WILL BE A LAUNCH CEREMONY and STORY CIRCLE at 3:30pm

Download A Star: You can hand illustrate or write in it. You can use a design program to write your own photos or graphics. Print The Star or bring it to the event. There will also be Stars available for you to use at the event if you don’t want to do it at home.

FAQs

  • YES! We have facilitators on site from 1-5 to help you. We will have materials for you to create your story star.

  • Printer paper is great, thin is good for wheat paste.

  • Yes

  • Any, color is appreciated, but white is just fine too

  • No, we will have scissors onsite

  • Not at the moment, let's see how many story stars are created and allow space for all.

  • Let’s keep in mind that this is a public mural and that children will be present.
